ThisVerseFitz 15 – Proverbs

by f ziamond | Apr 12, 2025

#ThisVerseFitz relating to modern time, modern concerns, warning to pride of nations, God as our Stronghold, the Wicked, Firmament, Ark of the Covenant and the Deception of today.

On this fifteenth Sunday of 2025, April 13 (Palm Sunday) we enter the book of Proverbs. This book is a collection of short sayings which convey truth based on common sense. Common sense is mentioned throughout the book. These could be compared to fortunes from fortune cookies. We’ve always said, “you never get bad news in a fortune cookie”.

Proverbs lays out the two sides faced day after day whether it was from centuries ago or current times. Common sense distinguishes the difference between right and wrong. When someone uses common sense, the following prevail: Generous, Goodness, Honest, Humble, Innocence, Kindness, Knowledge, Love, Respectful, Righteous, Sensible, Trustful, Understanding, Wisdom.

Without common sense, and extremely visible today with the internet, the following prevails: Bragging, Cheating, Conceited, Crooked, Cruel, Deceitful, Dishonest, Drunk, Evilness, Foolishness, Gossip, Guilty, Hatred, Ignorance, Lazy, Lies, Mean, Nasty, Prideful, Selfish, Senseless, Sin, Sneaky, Stealing, Stupid, Troublesome, Wicked, Wrong.

Some verses speak highly of courts and trials. This is written at a time when there may have been more trust in judges and law makers. The book is not solely focused on wickedness, deception and the elites constant attempt to keep God and the Bible hidden, however, there are some Proverbs regarding the subject that has a massive presence today as it did a century ago.

Proverbs – 4:17 – “For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.”

Proverbs – 12:22 – “Lying lips are an abomination, but those who act faithfully are his delight.”

Proverbs – 19:9 – “A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.”

26:24-26 – “Whoever hates disguises himself with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart; when he speaks graciously, believe him not, for these are seven abominations in his heart; though his hatred be covered with deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

And one of our favorites, Proverbs – 13:9 – “The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out.”

13:9

Deception

Some of the most popular Proverbs,

Proverbs – 3:5 – “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

Proverbs – 16:9 – “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.”

Proverbs – 17:8 – “Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.”

Proverbs – 21:13 – “Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.”

Proverbs – 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Proverbs – 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

There are quite a few Proverbs pertaining to “Nagging wives”, “Cheating Husbands” and “Immoral women”. Maybe wives nag because the husbands cheat. Maybe the husbands cheat because the wives nag. However, a large selection “fitz” in the current atmosphere whether it pertains to alcohol, Jezebel’s luring men into temptation or just the indecent society of gender confusion and complete lack of Wisdom. Proverbs 7 articulates a dark act of a seductive woman. It is preceded by Proverbs 6 “Warnings Against Adultery”. It can be compared to current day temptresses exposing more of  themselves than ever necessary to capture attention whether it be at the club, the gym or even the super market. Proverbs 7:1-23 – “Warning Against the Adulteress”, “My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you; keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye; blind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call insight your intimate friend, to keep you from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words. For at the window of my house I have looked out through my lattice, and I have seen among the youths, a young man lacking sense, passing along the street near her corner, taking the road to her house in the twilight, in the evening, at the time of night and darkness. And behold, the woman meets him, dressed as a prostitute, wily of heart. She is loud and wayward; her feet do not stay at home; now in the street, now in the market, and at every corner she lies in wait. She seizes him and kisses him, and with bold face she says to him, “I had to offer sacrifices, and today I have paid my vows; so now I have come out to meet you, to seek you eagerly, and I have found you. I have spread my couch with coverings, colored linens from Egyptian linen; I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love till morning; let us delight ourselves with love. For my husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey; he took a bag of money with him; at full moon he will come home.” With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him. All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as stag is caught fast till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.”

There will be temptations and voids to fill. You can’t avoid a void. You can fill avoid properly.

Filling voids

Proverbs – 1:10 – “My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.”

Proverbs – 4:14-15 – “Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of the evil. Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on.”

Proverbs – 5:8 – “Keep your way from her, and do not go near the door of her house.”

Proverbs – 20:1 – “Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.”

Proverbs – 31:4-7 – “It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to take strong drink, lest they drink and forget what has been decreed and pervert the rights of all the afflicted. Give strong drink to the one who is perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress, let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more.”

God Search in Words – Print N Play

God Search in Words” works exactly as a normal “Word Search” with a somewhat higher level of difficulty given the Biblical terms. Once all the words are found, the leftover letters repeat a phrase 13.10 times (meaning the phrase is present 13 times and 10 letters of the phrase are left over). We call this the “AfterPuzzle”
