On this forty fifth Sunday of 2025, November 9, we enter the Book of Ezekiel.
Ezekiel 1:1-3 – “In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the exiles by the Chebar canal, the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. On the fifth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the Chebar canal, and the hand of the LORD was upon him there.
The Truth of the Actual Earth.
Ezekiel 1:22-26 – “Over the heads of the living creatures there was the likeness of an expanse (Firmament), shining like awe-inspiring crystal, spread out above their heads. And under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward another. And each creature had two wings covering its body. And when they went, I heard the sound of their wings like the sound of many waters, like the sound of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army. When they stood still, they let down their wings. And there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads. When they stood still, they let down their wings. And above the expanse over their heads there was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like sapphire; and seated above the likeness of a throne was was a likeness with a human appearance.
Ezekiel 10:1 – “Then I looked, and behold, on the expanse (Firmament) that was over the heads of the cherubim there appeared above them something like sapphire, in the appearance like a throne.”
Granted all the gifts and withholding from the needy.
Ezekiel 16:49 – “Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughter had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.”
Ezekiel 18:4 – “Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul who sins shall die.”
Ezekiel 18:20 – “The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.”
Ezekiel 25:17 – “I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I lay my vengeance upon them.”
A Lament over the King of Tyre.
Ezekiel 28:11-12 – Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me: Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.”
Ezekiel 36:26 – “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
The Valley of Dry Bones.
Ezekiel 37:1 – “The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley, it was full of bones.”
