ThisVerseFitz 23 – Ephesians

by f ziamond | Jun 7, 2025

ThisVerseFitz relating to modern times, a time to put on the Full Armor of God to resist the evil.

On this twenty-third Sunday of 2025, June 8, we enter the book of Ephesians, another letter written by Paul to the people of Ephesus. Much like other letters written by Paul, this letter to the people of Ephesus is filled with uplifting encouragement as well as the necessity to have Jesus in the forefront of everything. He speaks of being prepared for the darkness lurking in the spiritual battle and to wear the whole armor of God!

Ephesians – 1:3-4 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.”

All things are through God. A good reminder when celebrating the things we thought were our own doing. They are his doing. And he does them through us.

Ephesians – 2:8-9 – “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Ephesians – 3:20 – “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Ephesians – 5:25 – “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”

Ephesians – 6:1-2 – “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother.”

If ever there were a verse which “fitz”, or verses which fit in modern times it is at the end of the book of Ephesians.

Ephesians – 6:10-18 – The Whole Armor of God – “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.”

“God Search in Words” works exactly as a normal “Word Search” with a somewhat higher level of difficulty given the Biblical terms. Once all the words are found, the leftover letters repeat a phrase 2.23 times (meaning the phrase is present 2 times and 23 letters of the phrase are left over). We call this the “AfterPuzzle”.
